QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK

1.     Purity means something is completely one thing. In 1 Peter 1:22, it says that obedience purifies our souls. What is being purified out of us? How does obedience do that in us? What is the “truth” that we are to be obedient to? How does our being “born again” affect our ability to do this?

 2.     In the middle of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew chapters 5-7), Jesus says that we have a big impact on others. In what ways do you have influence on those around you? How do your actions “teach” others (Matt 5:19)? The scribes and Pharisees were essentially in vocational ministry. How can your righteousness exceed theirs?

3.     Malachi is a book that closes out the Old Testament. Written 400 years before the New Testament starts, it speaks of Christ’s 2nd coming – in judgment. That judgment ends with eternity beginning for both the believer and unbeliever. Hell is real. Does that create an urgency in you to share the Gospel? Who do you know that is ready to hear? How can you create opportunities to share the Gospel in a meaningful way?
