2 Corinthians 11:16-21 (HCSB)
Paul’s Sufferings for Christ

16 I repeat: No one should consider me a fool. But if you do, at least accept me as a fool, so I too may boast a little. 17 What I say in this matter of boasting, I don’t speak as the Lord would, but foolishly. 18 Since many boast in an unspiritual way, I will also boast. 19 For you, being so wise, gladly put up with fools! 20 In fact, you put up with it if someone enslaves you, if someone devours you, if someone captures you, if someone dominates you, or if someone hits you in the face. 21 I say this to our shame: We have been weak. But in whatever anyone dares to boast—I am talking foolishly—I also dare:

Pastor H.D. Jones
Proverbs 26:5 (HCSB) “Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.” Paul was trying to meet his audience where they were spiritually, but he was so frustrated by their ignorance of God’s wisdom. Seldom does God use the biggest, best, or brightest. God seems to pick the little guy, the least likely, the one that no one really noticed. That is so God gets the glory and not the individual. The Corinthian people were enamored with the false teachings of charismatic speakers and yet Paul demonstrated God's greatness by his weakness. That is a great reminder to us that God doesn’t need our abilities... He just wants your availability. The least likely candidate is the one God can use for
mighty works. So, stop with the excuses of why you can’t do what God has asked of you. When we surrender to God, then we are useful for God and will be used by God. Remember, part of our theme this year is to “Attempt Great Things for God”.
