Questions for the Week

  1. This is a famous passage from the Bible, but we often isolate it from the larger story of the Bible. It has much to say about God’s redemption through Jesus. How does this passage point us to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection?
  2. Both Saul and David were chosen by God to lead Israel. How does this passage highlight the differences between David’s and Saul’s character? What are some differences we see? What is the root cause of those differences?
  3. If David is a man after God’s own heart, what does his obedience say about his heart for God? Take stock of your own life. If an outsider was to describe your daily life, would they see your love for Jesus in a tangible way? What giant stands in the way of you following Him more deeply?
