Matthew 24:32-35 (HCSB)
The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near—at the door! 34 I assure you: This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.
Michael Koontz
What we have here is a lesson that we are on God’s calendar. We don’t know the date of when God will make things right. But we have His promise that it is going to happen. We can see signs of things happening. We can read articles of events taking place in Israel that prepare the way for Jesus to come back. But the signs are not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for the Savior Himself. One day, He will come for me, and for you if you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Jesus can come at any time! So, what we do with the time we have is so important. Who are you sharing the truth of Jesus with? Who are you inviting to come sit with you at church this coming Sunday? We don’t have much time, so we need to do it now.
