Psalm 139:13-16 (HCSB)
13 For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. 15 My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began.

Today, let’s glance at the ‘R’ of the SERVE acronym –Relational Style. We all have a personality style that is part of our nature. Every style has its strengths and weaknesses.  Psalm 139 is all about God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. God, in those characteristics, saw to it that you were made with your natural relational tendencies. A word of caution remains, your God-given nature can (and WILL!) be used sinfully at times but that is not an issue with the gift or the Giver but the one to which it was given. In Psalm 139:13, we see God’s omnipotence –HE, not our parents, made us! In vs. 15 we see God’s omnipresence –even when no one else was with us, we were not hidden from Him. In verse 16 we see God’s omniscience –He had a plan for our lives before our first day. In the middle of this passage, verse 14, we see the right response to all that God is –praise! How are you living your life to SERVE God and others with your personality? God made you! To know your relational style allows you to know the strengths and weaknesses of that style.  This makes you aware of potential pitfalls as you work with others.  May your speech be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person (Colossians 4:6)
