Sunday Connect Lesson for February 26, 2023
FOREVER SETTLED
The lesson applies to all of Scripture, affirming that the Old Testament and New Testament were given to us and preserved by God. We can be confident that the Bible we read is the inspired Word of God.
We know God gave His Word through inspiration; He preserved his Word accurately so that we can confidently trust it still today.
Key Truth: God has preserved the accuracy of His Word (1 Peter 1:22-25: Matthew 5:18). In spite of the attacks of critics, we have strong evidence that our copies of God's Word have been preserved accurately. Scripture was protected by the careful recording of scribes and dedicated copyists, and the canon of Scripture was determined and verified under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
Key Truth: There are reliable evidences for the truth of God's Word (Luke 3:1-2). Ancient historians and archaeological proofs have given additional support to the record of Scripture. These are not "once-upon-a-time" stories. They happened in history.
Family Connection: Continue the discussion after church!
Why can we trust the reliability of the Bible? Why is it important that God has preserved His Word down through history?
