Colossians 2: 16-19 (HCSB)
16 Therefore, don’t let anyone judge you in regard to food and drink or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of what was to come; the substance is the Messiah. 18 Let no one disqualify you, insisting on ascetic practices and the worship of angels, claiming access to a visionary realm and inflated without cause by his unspiritual mind. 19 He doesn’t hold on to the head, from whom the whole body, nourished and held together by its ligaments and tendons, develops with growth from God.

Mark Jenkins
It is always interesting when we read God’s Word and we have...”Therefore”...with all that Paul has said up to this point, he begins to drive his point home. Do not let anyone judge you in regard to food, drink or in the matter of other things. Because of the work Jesus Christ has done on the cross, all the things that can be argued are not worth arguing. Trust in Christ and the work He has done and only He could do! God has completely reconciled believers to Himself, they are free from condemnation and from all the practices that were required in the Old Testament. Paul is driving the point home that the practices God ordained in the Old Testament were a mere shadow of the fullness brought about by Jesus. Pray that we can see how the saving work of Jesus paid the price to reconcile sinful man to a Holy God!
