Romans 13:11-14 (HCSB)
Put On Christ
11 Besides this, knowing the time, it is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk with decency, as in the daylight: not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires.
Tammy Perkins
I have often heard and firmly believe, that we as Christians are the only Bible that some people will ever read. When those around you know that you are a Christian, they pay attention to what you do and how you act. How you handle difficult situations speaks volumes to them about your faith and the Christian life you are leading. When they see you whining and complaining/cussing and fussing or partying and acting inappropriately, what are they to think of Christians in general? Why would they want what you have? The Bible says that the days before Jesus comes again are very short and we need to do our part in sharing Christ with those around us in a way that they can hear. You are not promised tomorrow, so what can you do today to further the kingdom? I encourage you to start each day in prayer, asking God to show you who needs to hear about Him from you that day. Ask Him to reveal to you the best way to reach them right where they are so that they will want to know more about Him. Be bold and courageous as you go through each day!
