A Note From Pastor H.D.
In the heat of summer it only seems right that we are going to spend a lot of time with the Israelites in the desert. I don’t know about you, but I never like the extremes of the weather. I don’t like it when it is too cold or too hot. I’m really at my best when it is between 65 and 85 degrees and while there are places on the planet that this range is the norm, that is not for us here in TN.
What we will learn about over the next two months is that God is with Israel even in difficult times. Amazingly, we will also see that most of their troubles are caused by not keeping the laws of God. How much easier would my life be if I just followed God’s leadership in my life. Yet, He never leaves us or forsakes us even in the deserts of our lives. I’m not sure what you are going through right now. Maybe its a difficult season and maybe you don’t feel close to God or even feel distant from the church. But hold on and keep doing the next right thing. You will see that God is always faithful. He will always protect His people; provide for His people; and calm our fears. We see this through the lives of the Israelites, but we will also see it in our own lives.
Get ready for the heat but understand that it will not always be this way. In just a few weeks we will be cold again and long for the heat of summer. Kind of funny how we are never really satisfied with life. That reminds us that this life is vanity and that only the pursuit of God is purposeful and meaningful. We long for a better day! Temple we are sure proud of you. Keep reading these scriptures and preparing yourself for Connect, Worship, and even the desert times of your life.
Grace, Mercy, and Peace,
Pastor HD and Susan
