Questions for the Week

What does the phrase “meet them where they’re at” mean to you? In Acts we see Paul    meeting the Jews “where they’re at” in the synagogue by starting the conversation with the Old Testament and then showing them that Jesus is the fulfillment of OT prophecies. Were his interactions successful? How can we apply that same thought to people that we know? Is there someone that you need to “meet where they’re at?”

2.  In 1 Thessalonians 1:5, Paul wrote, “...You know what kind of men we were among you for     your benefit.” Paul and Silas were able to minister to others just by living among them, sharing  their lives with them. Think about those that you come into contact with daily. What kind of      influence are you having on them? If someone was to imitate you (1:6), would he/she be      “welcoming a message from the Holy Spirit”? Why or why not?

3.  It’s easy to leave the serving to the church leadership. There are certain things they get paid to do, but they can’t do the ministry of the church on their own. Have you ever heard the statement, 20% of the people are doing 80% of the work? Do you know what happens as a result of that? Those 20% get burnt out. What are some ways that every church member could step up and be a servant for the Kingdom of God?
