Questions for the Week
1. What does Saul’s conversion experience in Acts 9, teach about God’s grace in salvation? What role does Ananias play in God’s grace to Saul? Why do you think God chose to include Ananias in Saul’s conversion experience?
2. Saul began to proclaim Jesus immediately (vs. 20) after his experience. Why do you think we often don’t share our story immediately (or ever)? What encouragement can we take from the mixed responses Saul received in vss. 19b-31? What made people respond positively (or negatively) toward Saul? How did Saul change their mind?
3. In Phil. 3:3, Paul lists 3 distinguishing marks of a Christian –what are they? Why, then, did Paul go on to list (and discredit) other things that would normally give him confidence? What are the things that you typically lean on for confidence? Why do those things fail in comparison to God?
