Questions for the Week
1. Name as many people in Scripture as you can think of (or do some research) that you would consider having “train wrecks” in some part of their story that is recorded in the Bible. Why would God want to record those things for everyone to read?
2. What are some of Moses’ weaknesses that we are allowed to see in Exodus 1-5? Why do you think God wanted us to know these? After all, Moses was the only human God spoke to face to face. Doesn’t that mean God had a very close and intimate relationship with Moses and that God felt he was worthy of being in His very presence? Why wouldn’t he want his weaknesses hidden from view....that’s what we would do isn’t it?
3. Have you ever had any “train wrecks” in your life? Reflect on how God has worked in and around those times/situations in your life. Where do you see His hand using any of it in your life even now? Do you feel worthy of being in God’s presence in spite of your weaknesses and failures? How does this part of Moses’ story help us know how much God loves us and still wants to use us for His Kingdom. KEEP IT SIMPLE AND SEEK GOD FIRST.
