Revelation 5:8-14 (HCSB)
The Lamb Is Worthy
8 When He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song: You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slaughtered, and You redeemed people for God by Your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10 You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth. 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and also of the living creatures and of the elders. Their number was countless thousands, plus thousands of thousands. 12 They said with a loud voice: The Lamb who was slaughtered is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing! 13 I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say: Blessing and honor and glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! 14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

So, are you still wondering why God is worthy of our worship? Revelations 5 sums it up beautifully. As I stated on Day 1, worshipping God is the supreme purpose for which humans were created. We worship to recognize, honor, and express the worthiness of God that He is due as our Creator. But when Jesus chose to die on the cross for all of our sins, that made Him the only one worthy to break the seven seals and open the scrolls and atone for all of our transgressions. This is WHY we sing praise to God. This is WHY God is the one and only being worthy of all of our praise. Psalm 40:3 says: “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him” - because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. Yes, God deserves our worship, but oh how we benefit from it! What could be better than to be in the presence of our loving Creator fulfilling our ultimate purpose forever and ever? Rev. 5:12-13 proclaims: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” 13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever! ”Every Creature in heaven and on earth (land and sea) praising God! I can’t imagine what a roar of praise that will be but I sure can’t wait to hear it. Let your praises rise in a thunderous roar to God today.
