Questions for the Week

1. Looking at the characteristics of the churches listed in Revelation 2-3 –which church does your Christian walk look most like? What about the churches that you have attended over the years?
2. The Church of Pergamum seemed to have compromised on biblical truth (2:8-11). This church lived “where Satan’s throne” was (2:12). What would that look like today? What cultural issues press hardest against biblical truth?  Pergamum was holding on in the storm but not perfectly. Why is it so tempting to give ground on some issues?
3. Sardis seems to be a dead church (3:1-6) while Philadelphia seems to be a Great Commission church (3:7-13). How can a church look alive but be dead (3:1)? Why did a few people remain in that church (3:4)? How is it that Philadelphia looks alive and IS alive? What was the reward for being faithful (3:10-13). Where does your personal walk land between the two?
