Questions for the Week

1.  Paul starts the book of Titus by listing what God had called him to do (1:1-3). What is the purpose God has placed on your life? What is God’s grand purpose for His church? How does your purpose contribute to God’s purpose? What is the link between leadership and service?

2.  Last week Hebrews brought up the need to pursue peace with everyone. Paul here, in 1:10-16, brings up the occasional need to confront others. What are issues worth confronting someone over? What is the purpose of that confrontation? How does that affect how you approach the subject and view the person?

3. Paul was imprisoned by the Roman government while writing the book of Titus. Yet, he still reminded believers to submit to rulers/authorities and be nice about it (3:1-2). Does that give you hope for today’s political, social, and online environments? One reason for being gracious in contentious moments is our own sinfulness. Where do you struggle applying 3:1-2?
