Questions for the Week

  1. What does Hebrews 11:1 mean to you? Most of this chapter is a series of reminders of OT saints that persevered. How does faith motivate perseverance (11:6)? What does that look like in your life? Where is your faith and perseverance weak? Where is it strong? Why do you struggle or stand strong in those areas?
  2. Chapter 12 starts with the word “therefore.” How does knowing you are part of a huge historical faith family make it    easier to endure hard times? What does active faithfulness look like in the context of “struggling against sin” (12:4)?    Why does God allow you to experience temptations and persecutions after you’ve given your life to Him?
  3. We live in a VERY contentious day and age. The Bible is timeless and true. What does it mean to “pursue peace with everyone” (12:14) today? How is that connected to some being able to “see the Lord”? This peace extends not just to unbelievers but the universal Church as well. Who in the Church do you struggle to be peaceable with?  Why? How can you pursue peace?
