A Note From Pastor H.D.

Happy New Year!! As we start 2023 together, we will be reading through Paul’s words to Colosse and Peter’s words to those Christians that had been dispersed because of persecution. Both letters are written to expose false teachers and their bad theology. Our world is full of both of those things today. We see TV preachers asking us to send in “seed money” so God will bless us, only to see those preachers are the ones getting rich. We also hear about “name it claim it” or “prosperity gospel” that will help us get the blessed life we want today.  All of this seems pretty funny when you consider that Jesus was not a wealthy man nor did His disciples exit this world without intense persecutions and hardships. To live in this world is hard, but to live in this world as a Christian can even be harder. Jesus said “the world hated Him and it will hate us as well” because we follow Him. But if He is with us, who can be against us. Join me as we read though these two books and discover how we can detect and reject false teaching. God doesn’t want us to be ignorant and confused about His work and our purpose. So, we have His word that makes us “wise as serpents but gentle as doves”.
Susan and I love serving with you,
