Isaiah 53:1-2 (HCSB)
53 Who has believed what we have heard? And who has the arm of the Lord been revealed to? 2 He grew up before Him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at Him, no appearance that we should desire Him.

Jesus is the Messiah.
I like the definition of prophecy from gotquestions.org, which says that a prophecy is simply a message from God. For me, the messages from God about Jesus throughout the Old Testament alleviate any question that He is the Messiah. Isaiah 53 is just one of over 300 Old Testament prophecies of Christ. What stands out to me about these two verses is the focus on what will be unimpressive about the Messiah–Isaiah is clear that he will not be physically imposing, majestic, or noticeably attractive. Isaiah predicted that Jesus would be rejected, in part, because he did not fit the mold of what the Messiah “should” look like. Rather than having noble beginnings and uncommon beauty, Jesus came as a suffering servant. His beauty and strength were not, and are not, superficial, but rather are shown through His humility and mercy.
