Zechariah 9:9 (HCSB)
9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Becky Jenkins
What an amazing sight it must have been seeing Jesus atop a donkey fulfilling the prophecy of that day. To recognize the promised Messiah would have been nothing short of breathtaking. This last Sunday I sat beside a gentleman in church that introduced himself and reminded me that he and his daughter used to attend Temple many years ago. Honestly, I did not catch his name, just that he and his daughter used to attend. I asked a couple of people and based on the little information I had, no one could come up with his name. I searched old pictorial directories (who misses those?!) and was super excited when I found him–it has been at least 10 years since I’ve seen him and was glad to finally figure out who he is. As excited as I am to see him again and talk through shared memories, it pales in comparison to what it must have been to see Jesus...the One who can save, the One who can offer true forgiveness and a life eternal.
