QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK
  1. “Doulos” (“slave” in Eph. 6:5) is not the same as 19th century slavery. It was sort of (though not     fully) a boss-employee relationship. With that in mind – do you struggle at work either leading or being lead? Working only when seen? Do you work only for the reward, or do you see it as       honoring to Christ?  What would change if you saw it that way?
  2. The broader context of Titus 3:8 is readiness for every good work. We were once foolish,   disobedient slaves (again, “doulos”). Now, changed by Jesus we are to be devoted to good works. What good work has God saved you for? Where is it “excellent and profitable” for you to serve at Temple?
  3. God cares about the oppressed. Jesus often went to the most needy and hopeless people. In       Deut. 24:15, we see it is sin when we make life harder for others.  With that in mind, how can you serve those you see struggling? How can you structure your life to be able to meet immediate needs (“before the sun sets”)?
