Titus 3:8 (HCSB)
8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

Cliff Bynum
Have you ever had someone in your life that was right there no matter what? This person, usually not a parent, would call you out for doing something dumb, tell you to straighten up and act right without hesitation. They weren’t scolding you, just reminding you to think about your actions and probably never do that again. They were probably your biggest encourager.  The book of Titus reminds me of my younger years, where I still had a whole lot of growing up to do. I had a friend name Lorrin. He’d give me the shirt off his back and be unafraid to sit me down and tell me to act right. He was never mean or hateful, but firm enough to get the point across. He helped mold me into who I am and helped me get onto the path that I needed to be on. What Lorrin did for me, Paul did for Titus. Paul is reminding Titus that God’s promise is real. He is telling him to insist, not to lose faith, or grow weak.  Sometimes we may fail, fall, or doubt ourselves. We must remember to be steadfast, and that God loves us always. We are to love others, have compassion, and show empathy with them just as Jesus does to us. Living God’s word is not always easy, but it is what we’ve been called to do.  In your daily prayer, pray that God would help you shine your light to others when the time comes. Pray that He will give you the courage to do so.

HOW CAN I APPLY IT?
