Sunday Connect Lesson for August 14, 2022

WALK IN LOVE
Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians while under house arrest in Rome around AD 61 or 62. In this section of the letter, Paul explained that believers are to live as Christ did, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The apostle Paul continued the metaphor of "walking" to remind the Ephesians (and us) to walk in love, walk as children of light, and walk wisely in a dark world.

Study the Word: Key Truth: Believers Imitate Christ, Having Nothing to Do With Sinful Attitudes and Activities. As followers of Jesus, we have a different hope and different values from the world around us. We should be distinct from the world around us, shining as children of the light (verse 8) and exposing the works of darkness.

Key Truth:  Believers Follow the Guiding and Controlling Influence of the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit guides us in understanding what God would have us do, giving us wisdom.  We want to be fully under His control in our attitudes and actions.

HOW WILL I PUT THIS INTO PRACTICE THIS WEEK?
