DELIGHTING IN GOD'S WORD

The Psalms were written by various authors and come from various periods of Israel's history from Moses to the postexilic times. They were set to music and used in the worship of God. Many were written by David. Psalm 119 reveals the great value of God's Word in leading believers through life and its joys and challenges.

This psalm is a lengthy acrostic poem on the value of God's Word for His people, showing how much we need it in every aspect of life.

Study the Word: Read Psalm 119:1-8
Key Truth: God's Word is a Treasure of Authoritative Truth From God. 
Our understanding of God and His work is established in His Word. What a gift! We can know Him, revealed through a flawless source that includes historical record and doctrinal clarifications and promises for the future.

Key Truth: God's Word Helps Us Deal With Troubles Around Us. A hiding place in attacks, a stronghold in battle, a source of refreshment and light in darkness - God's Word provides all we need for the struggles we face.

Key Truth:  God's Word Helps Us Deal With Troubles Within Us. It is our resting place, assurance, comfort, and strength when our hearts face uncertainty and pain. The Word of God is complete and powerful and trustworthy.
