A Note from Pastor HD
Tyndale Bible Dictionary says... WISDOM The ability to direct one’s mind toward a full
understanding of human life and toward its moral fulfillment. Wisdom is thus a special
capacity, necessary for full human living; it can be acquired through education and the
application of the mind.
The Bible Teaches us:
• Proverbs 9:10 (HCSB) 10“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
• James 1:5 (HCSB) 5Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all
generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.
Wisdom is something we should all pursue. Over the next two months we are going to spend a majority of our time in Proverbs and James. I hope that you will keep up in the reading and that you will answer the questions at the end of each week and that you will come prepared for Connect and Worship.
In these two books we will have information and application. Remember James says “faith
without works is dead”. What we learn we need to apply to our daily lives. God wants us to live as wise people. We represent the Kingdom of God and we should represent Him well.
VBS is coming and we will Magnify the name of Jesus. Please make sure you register; pray for a successful week; and attend (yes adults there is a class for you). This is one of our greatest weeks in our year. I hope God does something amazing!
Grace, Mercy, and Peace... Temple we love you.
