Questions for the Week

  1.  The Psalmist says “the heavens declare the glory of God.” How does creation speak of God’s character beyond just it’s beauty? What emotions or spiritual insights does nature stir in you?The passage suggests that Scripture speaks continuously, but without words. How does this challenge the way we think about communication with God? Are there ways we may need to begin listening differently?
2.  In 19:7-11, the Psalmist uses six descriptions of God’s law - perfect, right, trustworthy,      radiant, pure and firm. How do these characteristics reflect different ways Scripture can transform us? Which of these descriptions resonates most with your current spiritual journey? Verse 10 says God’s Words are “sweeter than honey.” Do you experience Scripture this way? If not, what might you change in your approach to reading and ruminating on God’s Word?

3.  In 2 Timothy 3:14-17, the passage describes scripture as “God-breathed.” Does this imagery shape your understanding of the Bible’s authority? Hebrews 4:11-13 emphasizes that “nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.” Does this passage bring both comfort and discomfort to you (like it does to me)? How can we ensure that we are not just reading the Bible for knowledge or to complete our connect questions, but to allow it to actively transform our hearts?
