A Note From Pastor HD
Do you Expect God to do Great Things and are you Attempting to do Great Things for God? I think we forget sometimes that we are Kingdom people who have been given Kingdom authority to expand the Kingdom of God.
The Great Commission to “Make Disciples” is Jesus’ sending statement to the church. We don’t go out in frailty to beg people to come to Jesus. We fight from victory toward victory. We attempt the unbelievable because we are in partnership with the King of kings and Lord of lords.
For the months of May and June we will spend a majority of our time in the books of Ephesians and Psalms. Both of these books remind me that we serve the God that can’t be limited, can’t be put into a box, and will not be controlled by man’s ideas of what God should be or do.
Paul says in his prayer to the churches in Ephesus “Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
David will remind us… “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; He leads me along the right paths for His name’s sake.”
The only reason we don’t Expect God to do Great Things or Attempt to do Great Things for God is that we don’t really trust God. So, let’s encourage one another to step up, step out, and see what HE wants to do through us.
I don’t know about you but that Excites me and Scares me a little all at the same time. What an awesome God we serve!!!
Love you Temple, Pastor HD and Susan
