Hebrews 11:30-31  (HCSB)
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after being encircled by the Israelites for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute received the spies in peace and didn’t perish with those who disobeyed.

By faith you prevail; without it you perish. Read and read again about those Old Testament saints in Hebrews 11 that lived out their faith in God. Then look back at Joshua 2 at those who perished in Jericho because they lacked faith. Faith produces fruit. Rahab, although a Gentile and a harlot, produced fruit which is evidence of her repenting from sin. See Joshua 2:8-11 for her fear of God–how she received the spies, called Him Lord, testified of His great works, acknowledged He is in Heaven and on earth, interceded for her entire family, and committed to placing a cord of scarlet in her window. As a result, God saved her family from destruction and remembered her in the passage in Hebrews 11 often referred to as “The Hall of Faith.” Faith helps us look beyond the world’s value system and social magnetism to see the eternal values of God’s Kingdom. Faith helps us turn around and do what is right regardless of our past or others’ opinions.
