Genesis 6:1-8 (HCSB)
Sons of God and Daughters of Men
6 When mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful, and they took any they chose as wives for themselves. 3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever,because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth both in those days and afterward, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men. Judgment Decreed 5 When the Lord saw that man’s wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil all the time, 6 the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth,and He was grieved in His heart. 7 Then the Lord said, “I will wipe off from the face of the earth mankind, whom I created, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky—for I regret that I made them.” 8 Noah, however, found favor in the sight of the Lord.

WOW! The “sons of god” and the “Nephilim”. I’m not a theologian, so my comments will be tainted with the result of discussion with others and “GOTQUESTIONS.ORG.” It appears there are at least two discussions on these topics: 1)These were “fallen angels” or 2) they were a “mighty” race of men. The first would appear to be the result of angels who committed certain sin(s) and were thereby cast to Earth. The second would be the possible creation of a unique “tribe”, containing men of exceptional strength and capabilities. Look at the “report” in Numbers 15:31-33. I think you will agree that this occurred after the flood, which killed all humans. In either case, we, as believers, know there are those who have considered, or do consider, themselves very special, maybe even a form of god, or sons of god. We KNOW, without any doubt, that there is ONLY ONE “SON OF GOD”. His name is Jesus Christ –our SAVIOR and our LORD. He was, is, and will always be the ONLY SON, from the beginning until the end of time!! AMEN!! And AMEN!!
