Matthew 28:18-20 (HCSB)
18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Years ago, we were members at another church. A family came to visit and sat directly across from us. One of the men was possibly the roughest looking man I’d ever seen. He soon began to bring another man of rough appearance, a former inmate of 13 years. Within a year they both received Christ, were baptized and helped me start a connect class. Now Matt teaches the class, is a deacon and is baptizing and discipling other men. Making disciples means we are to teach others. The command was given with great authority and clear mandate, not as suggestions but orders. Jesus said,“if you love me keep my commandments.” Vance Havner said, “The church has no greater need today than to fall in love with Jesus all over again".
