Ezra 3:8-9 (HCSB)
Rebuilding the Temple 8 In the second month of the second year after they arrived at God’s house in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Jeshua son of Jozadak,  and the rest of their brothers, including the priests, the Levites, and all who had returned to Jerusalem from the captivity, began to build. They appointed the Levites who were 20 years old or more to supervise the work on the Lord’s house.  9 Jeshua with his sons and brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, and the sons of Judah  and of Henadad, with their sons and brothers, the Levites,  joined together to supervise those working on the house of God.

Verse 8 starts by telling us we are now “in the second year of their coming to the house of God.” The Israelites are still united in the work God has given them in year two. We live in such a fast-paced culture today. We want things immediately. We have so much to do, and we struggle with things that take time to complete. Yet, God often takes more time than we’d like to accomplish His purpose. God has a plan for your whole life. Your life isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. So, settle in, and slow down enough to discern God’s presence as He leads you. Don’t miss what God is doing in your life because you’re moving too fast. Stay the course and give God time to accomplish His plan for your life, and for our church.
