Praying in Jesus’ Name
12 “I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me[a] anything in My name, I will do it.

Jesus makes a stunning promise: “whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing”. ALL Christians will do works that lead others to a saving faith in Jesus. That was the purpose of His miracles - glory to God and increasing or displaying faith. Therefore, our lives are a living display of our faith in Jesus which leads others to faith. The “greater things” we get to do involve sharing the fulfillment of prophecy. We share the good news of Jesus and all He HAS done. We do not speak in parables of all He WILL do. He spoke of things to come while on Earth. Finally, “ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it”. Every request is filtered through the works Christ has laid out for us - knowing Him and making Him known. Every request in His name is to further His name.
