Proverbs 1:26-33 (HCSB)
26 I, in turn, will laugh at your calamity.
I will mock when terror strikes you,
27 when terror strikes you like a storm
and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,
when trouble and stress overcome you.
28 Then they will call me, but I won’t answer;
they will search for me, but won’t find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge,
didn’t choose to fear the Lord,
30 were not interested in my counsel,
and rejected all my correction,
31 they will eat the fruit of their way
and be glutted with their own schemes.
32 For the turning away of the inexperienced will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.
33 But whoever listens to me will live securely
and be free from the fear of danger.”

Falicia Johnson

What happens when we hear wisdom calling and choose not to listen? We choose foolishness and lady wisdom will "laugh at your disaster" as it says in verse 26. Remember yesterday, we learned that wisdom wants to be heard, it is not hidden from us. In James, we are told to seek out wisdom and ask for it, and it will be freely given to us. So, verse 26 make me step back a little bit......   How many times in my life have I chosen foolishness, and then looked back and wondered how I ended up where I was? A Bible study teacher in my life used to always say, "If you know what the right thing to do is, you should just do it right away. Do not delay." How much smoother my days, our days, would play out if we chose wisdom from the very beginning.
