Proverbs 1:20-25 (HCSB)
Wisdom’s Plea

20 Wisdom calls out in the street;
she raises her voice in the public squares.
21 She cries out above the commotion;
she speaks at the entrance of the city gates:
22 “How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance?
How long will you mockers enjoy mocking
and you fools hate knowledge?
23 If you respond to my warning,
then I will pour out my spirit on you
and teach you my words.
24 Since I called out and you refused,
extended my hand and no one paid attention,
25 since you neglected all my counsel
and did not accept my correction,

Falicia Johnson
In verse 20 wisdom is referred to as a she. This starts the dance –the dance of two women: Lady of wisdom and Lady of Folly, and this dance is carried out throughout the rest of the book; The way of wisdom and the way of foolishness. In verse 20, it says that wisdom is calling out loudly, in public, not hidden. Wisdom wants to be heard. Are there areas in your life that wisdom is calling out loudly and you are choosing not to listen? Take some time to examine this question in your life, if there is an area(s) where you are not listening to wisdom, I encourage you to repent and take a step in a different direction - in the direction of wisdom.
