2 Corinthians 12:1-5  (HCSB)
Sufficient Grace

12 Boasting is necessary. It is not profitable, but I will move on to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who was caught up into the third heaven 14 years ago. Whether he was in the body or out of the body, I don’t know, God knows. 3 I know that this man—whether in the body or out of the body I don’t know, God knows— 4 was caught up into paradise. He heard inexpressible words, which a man is not allowed to speak. 5 I will boast about this person, but not about myself, except of my weaknesses.

Patrick Nix, Pastor of Flewellyn Baptist Church
Paul’s life was marked by extraordinary experiences: visions of heaven, encounters with Jesus, and powerful ministry. Yet, his boasting isn’t about his abilities or spiritual accolades but in God’s grace that undergirded it all. It was grace that called Paul to his unique mission and grace that empowered him to carry it out despite trials (see also 1 Corinthians 15:10). Have you considered how God’s grace is at work in your calling? Whether your calling is to a specific ministry, your workplace, or your family, His grace enables you to live it out. You may not have visions or hear an audible voice, but His Spirit leads you. Instead of comparing yourself to others’ stories, ask how God is revealing His grace through your journey. Celebrate the small moments when He equips you to serve, speak, or stand firm. God doesn’t call you because you’re capable; He calls you because He’s able. His grace is sufficient—lean into it.
