1 Timothy 6:17-21 (HCSB)
Instructions to the Rich

17 Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. 18 Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good reserve for the age to come, so that they may take hold of life that is real. Guard the Heritage
20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding irreverent, empty speech and contradictions from the “knowledge” that falsely bears that name. 21 By professing it, some people have deviated from the faith. Grace be with all of you.

James Burns
Paul wisely instructs Timothy and church leaders to share and live by these Godly principles. Teach the avoidance of the trappings and uncertainty of worldly wealth (and power, and greed). Live and preach by Godly virtues – good works, generosity, willingness to share, and the sound principle of saving for the days to come. Whether we are preaching, teaching in a Connect class, or simply going about our lives, we are a living testimony to our loving God and Savior. Every day is an opportunity to live out that testimony in honor to our loving God in all that we do.
