Philippians 4:8 (HCSB)
8 Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things.

Kati Andrews
When I read this verse, two colloquialisms came to mind: “Evil in, evil out”; and “You are what you eat.” I’ve also heard that it takes 21 days to form a new habit (or break old ones). So, let me propose a 21-day challenge to “eat” or “feast” on the adjectives from this verse. Let’s meditate on these together. Meditate on these words each day – and find their place in all facets of your life: Day 1: TRUE
Day 2: NOBLE (HONORABLE)
Day 3: TRUE, NOBLE (HONORABLE)
Day 4: JUST (EQUITABLE)
Day 5: PURE
Day 6: LOVELY
Day 7:  JUST and PURE
Days 8 - 10: TRUE, NOBLE, JUST, PURE
Day 11: LOVELY
Day 12: COMMENDABLE
Day 13: LOVELY and COMMENDABLE
Day 14: JUST and PURE
Day 15: TRUE and NOBLE
Days 16 - 18: TRUE, NOBLE, JUST, PURE, LOVELY, COMMENDABLE
Day 19: VIRTUOUS
Day 20: PRAISEWORTHY
Day 21: VIRTUOUS and PRAISEWORTHY
Now for the hardest part: “Evil in, evil out” – what in your life doesn’t align with being true, noble, just, pure, lovely, commendable, virtuous, and praiseworthy? What has taken your thoughts captive from God? As I type this, I can think of PLENTY in my own life which would fall into that category. Pray that you and I can fill our thoughts with and feast upon the Word, for that is the only way to keep the enemy at bay.
